Only a few Toronto cavers braved the heat and hurricanes to go to the 2008 National Speleological Society convention in Lake City, Florida. But they were well rewarded. The temperature was below normal (for Florida!), the hurricane waited until everyone had left before roaring through, and the Florida caves were an amazing look at what caves are like in limestones very different from those we are used to.
