INTERNATIONAL SHUFFLEBOARD ASSOCIATION

HISTORY OF ISA

The International Shuffleboard Association was formed March 10, 1979 in St. Petersburg, Florida to promote International Competition, and Shuffleboard throughout the World.

The first Board of Directors were as follows:

President

Mr. William Johns tone, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada

1st Vice-President

Mr. Hikotaro Tagawa, Tokyo, Japan

2nd Vice-President

Mr. Howard Hawkins, U.S.A.

Treasurer

Mr. Ken Worden, U.S.A

Tournament Director

Mr. Ray Mosley, U.S.A.

Promotional Director

Mr. Karl Von Schuler. U.S.A.

The Association has worked diligently since then to promote the Sport of Shuffleboard and has seen the inclusion of AUSTRALIA, ZIMBABWE and recently BRAZIL to our Association.

Members of the Association have travelled to AUSTRALIA twice and ZIMBABWE once to promote the Sport.
