28th September 1905

 

It was moved by Mr. Finnigan seconded by Mr. Pinto and resolved that the

 

Sports of the school be divided into the following Sections

 

(i) Cricket (ii) Football (iii) Hockey (iv) Annual Sports.

 

2nd August 1909

 

It was resolved that the following medals, 8 in number, be sent for from

England

 

·         Cricket

·         Football

·         Hockey

·         Boxing

 

2nd August 1912

 

Darjeeling Hockey Tournament Expenses.

 

It was proposed by Mr. Pinto seconded by Mr. Elliot and resolved that Mr. Hall be authorised to spend Rs. 5/- for boys traveling up to Darjeeling to take part in the various matches for the Eroom Cup,

 

13th April 1915

 

The Headmaster received a letter from Mr. Chas Johnston, Capt. of the Cossipur Cricket Club, offering us the Cricket material of the club, consisting of nets, poles, gloves, bats, balls and wickets, for the sum of Rs. 50/- on inspection, we paying the freight.  If not approved of, the goods could be returned and he would pay freight.

 

7th August 1917

 

ft was proposed and resolved unanimously that the sum of Rs. 24/- be spent on the purchase of 24 Hockey Sticks (Black Handles) for the Juniors.

 

13th March 1925

 

Purchase of a Gramophone.

 

On a motion of the Hon.  Sec. to purchase a Gramophone and records out of surplus funds, for the use of the boys, it was resolved that such purchase be effected out of the surplus standing to the credit of the Games Fund ; a maximum expenditure of Rs. 400/- was authorised, and the Hon.  Sec. was asked to negotiate the purchase.

 

1st May 1929

 

House Matches.

 

Proposed by Mr. Prins, seconded by Mr. Nugent and carried, that colours in the form of coloured collars and cuffs be worn in the House Hockey Tournaments.

 

29th November 1933

 

The sum of Rupees Twenty was sanctioned to be paid to Mr, Prins in connection with the trip of the Rug by team to Calcutta.

 

20th August 1940

 

It was decided that all numbers of the boys eleven should be presented with stockings and the following design was decided upon for them-Dark Red and Navy Blue Hoops for the stocking with a blue gold Et red turnover (the gold to be a thin strip between the blue and red on the turn over).

 

8th July 1941

 

It was decided nem con that (i) the same C01OLir should be awarded for Football @1.1; for Hockey (shirts Et stockings of the approved design) and that those boys who played in both teams should only be presented with one shirt for both Games. (ii) the three teams (hockey, Football Et Cricket) should be awarded the school colours (i. e. that they should he permitted to wear the school 'Colour' blazer)and that no other boy should be permitted to wear this blazer either now or at any future date.

 

17th, April 1944.

 

Caps.  Proposed by Mr, Paine, seconded by Mr. Doyle and carried unanimously that the lst.  Xi Cricket team be entitled to wear caps.  This would be as "Uniform" and not as school "Colours".  Colours could be awarded and Could take the form of the "Yak's head" to be worn in the front of the cap.

 

6th, March 1945,

 

Seasons : Proposed by Mr. Prins, seconded by Mr. Bloud that the same 'seasons' as last year, be kept for various Games Cricket : up to the end of May, Football : June and @ July Hockey July, August and September. Sports : 1 5th October.

 

1st.  April 1946

 

Transport.  After discussion it was decided that Mt.  Clark (President) ask the Manager, D. H. Railway, if he could grant concession rates for their bus service to the school teams when visiting Darjeeling.

 

31st March 1948

 

Table-Tennis

 

As no arrangements for a table had been made and due to impossibility of obtaining suitable timber for a new one it was suggested by Mr. Price, that he approach the Kurseong Mahatab Club about the purchase of their table.

 

6th April 1948

 

Boxing-it was resolved that Friday night be utilised for coaching.

 

6th April 1950

 

House Points.  As the present system of allotment of House Points, especially in the case of boxing, was considered not very satisfactory, it was proposed that Rev.  Nestor write to Rev.  Tritwyn and get a scheme of allotment of points adopted at Barnes' High School.  A sub-committee consisting of Messrs. Bloud, Higgins, Nestor, Murray-Smith and Paine after studying the above system of House Points draw up a revised system of allotting House Points for games and class work.  There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
